A Blessed Epiphany....

As you know I will share my experiences with God on this blog not only to help you on this journey with Jesus but also to help myself. This week to say the least I had a Blessed Epiphany....

For the longest time I knew that God loved me just by the mere fact he saved me and for that I wanted to stay as humble as possible because I wanted God to have his proper place as Lord and Savior of my life. I did not want to be egotistical or arrogant, just a humble servant of God.

Well, this week God revealed to me that I may have been overdoing it way too much. For the longest time I though that other people were better than I was. That their ministry and the things they were doing were more important than mine. In an effort to be as humble as could be, I had formed an inferior complex. God saved me and he loves me but he also said in his word "To love another as you love yourself." That's where I got tripped up. I did not Godly love myself and did not feel complete and whole.

This week God spoke to me and clearly let me know that I am loved and that I truly have worth. That my dreams, my desires and my goals were important to God and just as important is that those things are important to me.

My whole perspective has changed and now I am starting to see myself as God sees me. That I am not stuck in life and while I am here that I need to be happy and make a difference for God in my life and the lives of others.

God has given me new purpose and a new confidence in life that I have never felt before. The smile is back on my face and my hope is in my God. I thank God for this tremendous life changing gift.

What can God do you with you if you freed yourself up?  If you thought, Hey, I'm good enough, I have talents that God gave me and it's about time I use them.

My prayer for you is that God is using you and you are using the talents he gave you to the uttermost.

Until next time,

Love in Christ

Labor Day....

Labor Day...what does it mean to you....

For most of us it means a long weekend, a day off, the unofficial end of summer or a day off school. When  I was a kid, it meant an extra day to be outside playing with friends or having a cookout. There were many a Labor Day when I would keep the television on all night listening and watching the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon.

For some of us, it's just another day at work. Police, Fire, Doctors, Nurses, Retail Food workers and many others have to work so that life for us on our day off is enjoyable or in case we ran out of barbecue sauce before the big family cookout. I want thank those who have to work on the holidays so that life for us is safer and more convenient.

What does Labor Day mean for the Christian?? I remember 2 hymns that have the word labor in them, Father Along and When the Roll is Called Up Yonder.

In Father Along, the verse says, Faithful till death said our loving master, a few more days to LABOR and wait,

In the Roll is Called Up Yonder, the verse says, let us LABOR from the dawn to setting sun.

For the Christian, every day is Labor Day. We should be about the Father's business every day. We should be praying and reading our bible every day. We should be serving others and telling people about Jesus every day.

Why? The bible says that we will give an account for every action whether it is good or whether it is evil. The bible also says that whenever we give our Godly service to one another that we are also serving or doing that service unto Jesus.

A life of serving God and each other is the greatest kind of life. Not only do we bless the person that we are serving but God also blesses us. We do not serve others because God blesses us, we serve others because the one saved us and our Christian example, Jesus Christ, was a servant FIRST.

I encourage you to go and serve someone and their needs today. Do it just because you want to help them and not expecting any reward for yourself. Do it for God's Glory and no other reason.

I pray that you all have a safe and joy filled Labor Day....

Until next time...Love and Peace in Christ,
